Regarding Citizen's For Space Exploration Trip to Capitol Hill
...For the first time our Chamber’s Board of Directors voted to sponsor one of those university students travelling with the group. Our student was Bruce Davis currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Colorado in Aerospace Engineering. Bruce was fortunate to be invited to attend the Presidential Space Summit on this past April 15th at the Kennedy Space Center. He is truly an impressive young man and I hope he will have a bright future in our country’s space program. He was an asset on the trip and it was a pleasure to be able to sponsor him. ...

Note: the wording of the article may be unclear however our agenda / purpose for traveling to Capitol Hill was to support a robust human spaceflight program, we were neither pro/against the controversial changes in the proposed FY11 budget.

CU-Aerospace Engineering Bulletin
AES graduate students Bradley Cheetham and Bruce Davis are developing an initiative aimed at inspiring youth and strengthening the nation’s education in science, technology, engineering, and math. Called "We Want Our Future", the project aims to collect more than 100,000 postcards from young students around the country graphically depicting what each student imagines to be the future of space exploration. See here for full details.

March 2009: Bruce Wins Vise Award, Univ of Colorado
Bruce Davis has set very high standards for himself as a graduate student of aerospace engineering sciences. While working diligently, and successfully, in his graduate courses and pursuing a challenging research project that combines materials science, solid state physics and mathematics, on top of aerospace engineering, he has contributed remarkably to community services. His community activities, so rich in its number and diversity, range from undergraduate student mentoring to advising members of congress on aerospace education policy. His breadth and depth of work truly sets an outstanding example for the well-rounded aerospace engineering sciences student our department works very hard to produce. With this, the Aerospace Engineering Sciences Department is proud to award Bruce with the 2009 Vise Award. -Citation read by Dr. Mahmoud Hussein
